Do you want to have an MWR Branded Restaurant for your installation? Start by sending a request to Family and MWR Command (FMWRC) Business Programs Office through the IMA Regions. FMWRC will then schedule an assessment visit to determine viability of changing the operation to a Branded Restaurant. The team will review demographics, marketing and revenue potential, as well as develop the cost of the conversion and a Return on Investment analysis.
The assessment is at no cost. Figures for current projects range from $100K to over $1 Million depending on many variables. Will the Branded Restaurant be free-standing, new construction or retrofit? Is it large or small, and can already-existing furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) be utilized?
The team can conduct the assessment within 30 to 60 days of the request. We are working to reduce cycle time for the concepts from the current 18 months down to 8 months (optimum) using approved- design/build contractors.
MWR BRANDED RESTAURANTS WORK IN ALL SERVICES
Our Branded Restaurants are designed to look and operate like any civilian restaurants and nightclubs. The non-military environment lends itself perfectly to any military installation, regardless of the service branch. We currently have a Memorandum of Agreement with the Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Air Force that can incorporate our concepts on their bases.
PARTNERS IN FUNDING
Installations bear the main construction costs, FF&E costs, uniforms, resale merchandise, labor costs, Food Trak license fees, and operating expenses.
FMWRC funds menu layout, design and printing, carry-out menu design and printing, promotional materials, mystery shopper visits, name tags, operations manuals, training, surveys and annual re-certification visits.
